Visitor Visa Program

Visitors can travel abroad for tourism, pleasure, or short-term stays under the Visitor Visa Programme. Travel plans, financial support, and ties to home country are usually required for a temporary visa. The goal is to ensure tourists enter and leave the country on time and follow their visit terms.

Overview

Eligibility

Non-Canadians can apply for a Visitor Visa if they have ties to their home country, enough money to finance their stay, and a valid reason for visiting.

Application Process

Applicants must complete out the proper application form, present supporting papers (such as travel itinerary, evidence of money, and home country ties), and pay the visa processing cost.

Duration of Stay

Visitors can stay in Canada for six months on a Visitor Visa. Sometimes extensions are feasible.

Letter of Invitation

A Canadian resident may need to write a letter of invitation to family or friends, stating the purpose of the visit and the host's information.

Biometrics

Canadian applicants may be required to give biometric information.

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)
