Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Prerequisites for the Canadian Experience Course

(1) Acquiring the qualifying Canadian work experience occurred within the 36 months promptly prior to the application date.

(2) The applicant has accumulated a total of twelve months of full-time professional experience in a field classified as Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A or B according to the National Occupation Classification (NOC). Professions that qualify include those that are managerial, technical, technical, or specialised trade-oriented.

(3) The candidate exhibits adequate competence in one of the official languages of Canada. The required level of proficiency is contingent upon the field of work experience in Canada that the candidate has completed that is deemed qualifying.

(4) On no account is the candidate deemed inadmissible to Canada due to medical, criminal, or security concerns.

Credentialed employment experience

(1) To qualify, work experience must be competent and full-time. The term "full-time" denotes thirty hours worked per week. Part-time employment will be evaluated per a pro-rata structure. For instance, three months of work experience at 15 hours per week in a part-time professional position will be applied towards the required 12 months. Multiple part-time employment held concurrently may be utilized to fulfil the experience criterion.

(2) Work experience obtained in Canada in violation of a valid work authorization will be disregarded. Additionally, periods of self-employment or work experience acquired during the candidate's enrollment in a full-time programme of study will not be considered.

Methods of immigration processing utilising the CEC

The CEC is administered by IRCC, which manages skilled migrant applications via Express Entry. Individuals who have previously resided and worked in Canada are eligible to apply for the CEC.

Complying with the eligibility requirements of CEC or one of the Express entry programmes is the initial requirement. After the profile has been submitted, the IRCC conducts an Express entry draw every two weeks to award invitations to permanent residence to those with the highest CRS scores.

Obtain CEC eligibility as an international student

(1) Obtain your diploma from a Canadian institution.

(2) Request a PGWP (Post-Graduation Work Permit).

(3) Obtain a minimum of 1,560 hours of Canadian work experience in a TEER Category 0, 1, 2, or 3 position after obtaining your PGWP.

(4) Pass an authorized language examination and satisfy the minimum requirements. Benchmark 7 for jobs requiring TEER 0 or TEER 1, and Benchmark 5 for jobs requiring TEER 2 or TEER 3.

(5) To be eligible for Express Entry, IRCC will make every effort to execute your permanent residence application within six months of receiving an invitation to apply.
